Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from therapy together?

Therapy with me is collaborative, thoughtful, and paced in a way that feels supportive—not overwhelming. We take time to understand what’s happening beneath the surface of your thoughts, emotions, and patterns, rather than trying to rush toward solutions. My goal is to help you feel more clear, grounded, and connected to yourself over time.

What issues do you help with?

I work with adults navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, and identity exploration. Many of my clients struggle with overthinking, emotional overwhelm, patterns in relationships, or feeling disconnected from themselves. I also offer LGBTQ+ affirming therapy and support for those exploring their identity later in life.

What is IFS therapy?

I use Internal Family Systems (IFS), a therapy approach that helps you understand the different “parts” of yourself—like the inner critic, anxious part, or people-pleasing part. Instead of trying to get rid of these parts, we work to understand them with curiosity and compassion, which often leads to meaningful and lasting change.

Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?

I offer in-person sessions in Ventura County and telehealth sessions for clients across California. This allows for flexibility and consistency, while still creating a grounded and connected therapeutic space.

Do you accept insurance?

I work with several major insurance plans, including Aetna, Anthem, Blue Shield of CA, Cigna, Gold Coast/Carelon, Optum, and Quest Behavioral Health. Please reach out to confirm your specific coverage and benefits, as plans can vary.

What if I want to pay out-of-pocket?

I also offer private pay sessions. If you’re not using insurance, I can offer a sliding scale and/or provide a superbill that you may be able to submit for out-of-network reimbursement.

How do I get started?

You can reach out through my contact form to schedule an initial consultation. This is a chance for us to briefly connect, answer any questions, and see if working together feels like a good fit.

How often will we meet?

Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build consistency and momentum. From there, we can adjust frequency based on your needs and goals. But I am happy to be flexible to your needs, schedule, and financial commitment.

How long does therapy take?

This varies from person to person. Some clients come in with a specific focus, while others are interested in deeper, ongoing work. We move at a pace that feels supportive and aligned with what you’re looking for.

Do I need to have a clear goal before starting therapy?

Not at all. Many people start therapy feeling unsure of exactly what they need—they just know something doesn’t feel right. We can figure that out together.

Do you offer LGBTQ+ affirming therapy?

Yes. I offer affirming therapy for LGBTQ+ clients, including those exploring identity, relationships, and life transitions. As someone who came to understand my own identity later in life, I bring both personal and professional understanding to this work.

Can you incorporate astrology or tarot into therapy?

For clients who are interested, I can thoughtfully integrate astrology or tarot as reflective tools within therapy. These are used to support insight and self-understanding—not to predict outcomes—and are always optional.

If you have a question that isn’t answered here, you’re welcome to reach out. I’m happy to help you decide if this feels like the right fit :)
